How the Daily Idea Feed Works

The feed is the heart of Ideas: one concrete business idea per card, a fresh batch every day. This page explains where those cards come from, how the order is decided, and what happens when you like, save or rate one.
Where the ideas come from
Every day a pipeline reads what people are building, launching and complaining about across the web:
- Discussion sites — Hacker News, Reddit, Dev.to and Lobsters
- Launches — Product Hunt and Y Combinator launches
- Charts and lists — the App Store, Google Play and Chrome Web Store charts, GitHub, and Y Combinator's Requests for Startups
Raw posts are not ideas yet. An AI model reads each batch and distills it into a card with a fixed shape: what to build, who it is for, why now, and how it earns money, plus a category (SaaS, dev tools, browser extension, e-commerce…) and an effort tag (a weekend, a few weeks, or a few months).
Cards the model rates as low quality never reach the feed. Duplicates of something already seen are filtered out before a card is written.
How the feed is ordered
There is no black-box recommendation model. Each card gets a score from a handful of plain signals:

| Quality | The model's own assessment of how specific and plausible the idea is |
| Source heat | How much attention the original post got (points, stars, votes) |
| Community reaction | How many people liked or saved the card |
| A little randomness | So two visits never look identical |
If you haven't filled in a profile, the match signal is neutral and you see the same broad mix as everyone else.
Likes, saves and ratings
- Like says "more of this" and counts toward the card's community score.
- Save puts the card in your library so you can come back to it. It also counts toward the community score.
- Rate (1–5 stars) is your private judgment of the idea.
A card only counts as seen after it has been on your screen for a moment, not when it is downloaded. Scrolling quickly past a card won't burn it.
Using Ideas without an account
Browsing is free forever and you don't need to sign in to like, save or rate. Your reactions are tied to your device. If you create an account later, everything you did as a guest is merged into it, so nothing is lost.
An account is only required for things that cost credits — deep-dive reports, landing pages and idea batches — see credits and plans.
Languages
Idea cards are written in English and translated into Simplified Chinese on the day they are published. You can choose the card language in settings, separately from the interface language (the site and the apps have nine interface languages). Deep-dive reports and landing pages are written in whichever output language you choose.
